May Updates

Mental Health  Awareness Month

Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility Committee's goal is to educate ourselves as individuals and an organization and implement policies that ensure we are doing what we are saying we are doing with our values. As part of this work, we will be highlighting different aspects each month about our shared history as part of our continued learning, growing, and serving together.

May is Mental Health Awareness month. Join us in learning more about how to destigmatize and promote awareness through the resources from National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Our Impact

Recently, our Associate Director, Jaycie received a call from a previous resident. He had just moved into his own apartment after living at our Olympia Village for several years. He likes to visit the village and is now a regular volunteer, cooking up meals for residents. He was sharing about his plans for the day, and how a current resident was coming over to help fix his car. Then later he was going to another previous resident's new place to visit. He explained how much he felt cared for and appreciated everything that Quixote Communities had done for him. It was amazing hearing how this former resident, now a volunteer, has a whole new community and network because of the village. Those bonds last.

Stories like this are not possible without your support. Your contributions with construction, providing meals and needed essentials, and your support as a staff member, board member, volunteer, and donor. All the ways you lift up not just our shared work, but the lives of so many who could so easily be forgotten.

Thank you for helping create a safer community. A path to stability. A better quality of life. Thank you for being part of what matters.
